We’re Diamond NestEgg, an innovative financial education and coaching company that loves to help hard-working Americans improve their financial health
We come to work every day because we want to solve one of the biggest problems in finance. The lack of personal financial education. According to recent studies, up to 40% of Americans would struggle to pay $400 for an unexpected expense and one-third of Baby Boomers have saved nothing for retirement. In short, many of us are one medical emergency away from financial hardship, or worse.
At Diamond NestEgg, we believe the problem starts with what we learn (and don’t learn) in school. Across the American school system, we’re taught math, science, reading & even foreign languages, but most of us leave school not knowing how to fill in our tax forms, or write a check to the IRS. There are no standard courses or accreditations for learning how to responsibly manage our money.
We are dismantling the mystery around personal finance and breaking down the complicated jargon. We want to give hard-working Americans the financial knowledge and tools to take back control of their bank accounts and future savings. With our resources, innovative technology and personalized human touch, we deliver comprehensive financial education and coaching to help you reach your peak financial success.
Our Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Diamond NestEgg is very personal for me, for us. I’m Chinese-American, born in Vietnam. We left Vietnam when the Americans retreated in the late 1970s and came to NYC. After putting myself through college and grad school on scholarship at New York University and Harvard Business School, I spent nearly two decades working at major banks and consulting firms, both here and internationally, including Booz Allen, Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns and JP Morgan Chase.
When my parents were about to retire, we left our home of seven years in Germany and returned to NYC to help them. And we found that they were surprisingly ill-prepared for their golden years ahead. Their nest egg was insufficient to see them through, their bills were piling up, and their knowledge around Social Security, Medicare and long-term care was limited.
And sadly, they aren’t the only ones. Between the rampant overspending and easy-to-use tap-and-go payments culture, most Americans end the month with little leftover. I realized it was my own parents, friends and neighbors who needed my financial knowledge and support more than anyone. And in a nutshell, that’s how our company, Diamond NestEgg came to be.
We all have unique life experiences that define and shape who and where we are. Everyone’s financial journey is different and everyone’s financial picture changes over time. No matter where you are now or what your goals might be in the next six months or the next sixteen years, our expert team of financial coaches, and I, are here for you every step of the way – to help you get to where you want to be financially.
Diamond NestEgg works differently from most financial companies. We want to help you save money, not spend it.
We begin with a free initial coaching call to determine where your financial health is today. From there, you and your coach will talk about your goals, brainstorm an action plan together, and a timeline of projected targets and results – all customized for you and your needs. We’ll also work with you to select the combination of resources that will be the most beneficial for you. Our resources include free online guides, tools and in-person workshops, with topics ranging from budgeting day-to-day to saving for retirement.
And this is how your journey towards total financial fitness begins with us. You’re never on your own – give us a call or shoot us an email whenever you need to. We’re in it with you for the long-haul, supporting and guiding you until you reach the financial finish line that you want to get to.
What’s your story?
We’d love to hear all about you. Where are you now financially? Where do you want to be? What is your financial serendipity and how do we turn this into reality?
